Game Design Document

This week I have created a much more in depth GDD, expanding on my Game Vision Statement.

I put a lot of thought into creating this vision. I have included information such as the controls, what kind of art style the levels will have, and weapons

I have done this on a site called dundoc.com which specialises in creating game design documents.
I have laid out the necessities of the game, beginning with the story and characters and continuing on into the art, levels, and gameplay mechanics.

Here is the link to my own GDD: https://www.dundoc.com/project/4800/9ci821tfu4

  1. Hi Anna! i read through your GDD and i really like the idea you have for your game, and it's very clear you put a lot of time and effort into creating the story, characters, controls and overall gameplay. It was very helpful for you to include the drawings (very good btw) as it helped me really visualise the characters you intend to create and how they would be portrayed. I look forward to seeing the final product!!

  2. Hey Anna,
Your Game Design Document is so good and well thought out, a wow moment for me is your characters and their backstories you put in so much effort into their storylines and also your drawing are so good they helped so much because I can now tell what type of characters they will be and how they are going to be portrayed. Im just wondering how you are going to make the characters in unity will they be 2D OR 3D?. I think your message for this game is really strong there is a lot more to it its a really interesting concept. I look forward to seeing the final product I'm just wondering if you have a colour scheme for the game itself yet? I cant wait to one day play your game it sounds like something I would love to play keep up the great work!!!!

  3. Hi Anna, your game design doc looks really well thought out. The idea is interesting, but what makes me wonder is, how a normal human(I'm assuming Concord is a human?) summons a god of death? It sounds like a massive task to do... and even then, why would Mayhem care about what Concord thinks? He is a god after all. Unless you are going for the whole feel of "A god will cease to exist once people stop believing/worshipping him"?
I really like the drawings you included, as they really help visualize the characters and the general feel of the game. In the drawing under the Levels tab, the character looks a little bit like grumpy, which is funny, its like he is thinking "What did I get myself into...".

Keep up the good work, and Im really curious to see your prototype and final product.

  4. Hi Anna!!
I really like your GDD so far, it look's like you put a lot of detail and information into it. Your idea so far is really nice and interesting. I'm mainly interested in your System Requirements. If it's being played on PC what specifications do I need to be able to run it? Other than that I really like the characters. Cool concept as well!
    Talk to you soon
